When business growth is based upon a formula driven retail roll-out model, there is a Core Business Unit Model, (CBUM) that is replicated in locations that are very well researched and as much as possible pre-determined to be ideal “fertile ground” for that CBUM. CBUM expansion is not totally dormant in the present business climate, there are still some although fewer, who are growing rapidly. The business structure of the company is extremely important to the success of a (usually retail oriented) CBUM roll-out. Whether to franchise or form another funded capitalization sourcing model is a fundamental pre-expansion decision. There are pro’s and con’s to each.
